5/10 Foundations Piano is what happens when a company known for expensive cinematic libraries makes a free piano instrument. Heavyocity paired a deeply sampled soft Kawai grand with a creative texture layer of processed, atmospheric sounds that sit alongside the piano. That second layer is what impressed me most. Blend in a texture with the two-channel mixer, and a plain piano cue instantly becomes a modern hybrid scoring sound, with no extra processing needed.
You also get 10 custom presets, an arpeggiator, a gate, an ADSR envelope, and built-in delay and reverb. It is surprisingly flexible for a freebie and works especially well next to other scoring tools, like the ones on our free orchestral plugins page.
